Internet-addiction
International pen pals, probably, have discovered for themselves a new powerful drug, stronger, than heroin, - Internet-addiction. To brake distribution of this disturbing phenomenon, authorities of Thailand have decided to accept strict measures: an interdiction on visiting of internet-cafe after six o'clock in the evening for children and teenagers of school age, severe checks on attended website, sudden roads of police and closing of the institutions which are not observing rules.
Boys and girls in the age of from six till seven years are the most active visitors of internet-cafe both in large cities, and in rural settlements. The most of them have pen pals in the other countries According to the ministry of the information, children will spend more time in these institutions, than in educational classes, and very much frequently miss classes at school. The capital university has investigated among 899 pupils initial, average and the higher school, in the age of from 10 till 25 years. Stunning data are received: 54% spend daily from 1 to 3 hours in the Internet, while 31% of pupils spend for this occupation from 4 to 6 hours.
Given this research are especially important and from that point of view, that a little amount of young people have their own computers in Thailand, the majority of teenagers and youth direct in internet-cafe. Thus, it is possible to assume, that these children with the consent of parents will spend the most part of the a free time in poorly covered room together with the friends, staring at the laser beam destroying monsters and enemies or overcoming obstacles, etc.
